Richard and Carl met in 1991 in an off license, they knew each other from school but only loosely. After chatting for a little while they both realised they had a common interest in electronic music and soon after they decided to form a band based around computers and keyboards. It took them a little while to come up with a name they both liked that didnt sound stupid, Parasphere possibly being the worst. Cut and Run was chosen, taken from a track on the Ultravox album, Quartet.
They soon set to work writing, and the first track was `Boys and Girls world`. A pretty gloomy song about the world. The lyrics to this song were re-used on the track called C-saw in the music/video page.
